The machine is not networked for good reason , so we can't activate over the internet (even if Microsoft Activation Servers are still running for Xp?).

Hi Vinod,
It's highly uncommon for the system to prevent access to such a degree that you can't even reach the approved activation methods. And a normal reinstallation usually gives you time at full functionality (30 days) before resorting to reduced functionality due to not being activated - and even reduced functionality allows you to access enough to be able to activate. I'm not sure why you're having so much trouble here, but here is what's available regarding activation of XP as far as I'm aware.

Do you know anyone else with an XP OS installed on their computer (or have access to one through your workplace, a library, a computer kiosk, a school, a friend or neighbor or relative, or anyone (even if by phone where you can ask them to run the procedure on their XP system wherever they are to at least get you the phone numbers you need) - though how you or they get past the access problem to enter the product key or the special codes that the activation people provide instead of a product key to enter on the page where the phone number normally appears) is beyond me at the moment and you may need to get the info you need (the codes and such) from them if together you can't do it and then seek help with getting XP to install properly (as I believe it is not installing correctly for some reason given the symptoms you describe). Something is wrong (hardware, software, version of disk you're using (e.g., upgrade vs. Somna hindi typing tutor download. full install), problems with the disk, or some critical piece of the puzzle has not yet been revealed).
